LEADERSHIP

Pastor Steve Baker and his wife, Jannette founded New Life Ministries in Paris Kentucky in April 2003. They have three children and one grandchild. They have been in ministry in various capacities for more than 30 years. Pastor Steve attended Trinity Bible College in the mid 1980’s. He’s been a licensed Realtor for more than 32 years while Jannette currently serves as the CIO of Bluegrass Care Navigators out of Lexington Kentucky. Their career paths have allowed them to focus significant effort and energy to their local church.

They became Youth Pastors at a local church in Paris in 1989, growing the youth group from about 15 to more than 70 with the help of many in the local church. Pastor Steve and Jannette believe in a leadership style in which those around them should be trained to take their place. Pastor Steve has served in most positions in the local church ranging from deacon, Sunday school superintendent, teacher, youth pastor, nursery, children’s church director, and many other capacities as well.

He gives credit to God first, then his Pastor as a teenage boy all the way into being a young married man just starting into ministry, along with others who God has surrounded him with through the years in helping him to become who he is today. Pastor Steve believes as a shepherd or church leader we have to show love. He understands sometimes love is not popular, is difficult but is the foundational principle of not only a church leader but the Christian as well. He is very thankful for what God has used him and Jannette to accomplish over the years. He gives all glory to God while thanking those he’s ministered with throughout the years.
